The Certificate IV in Business (Procurement) reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have supervisory performance accountabilities. Individuals in these roles carry out a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks that require self-development skills. They use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources.

This course will take you through the aspects of business from start to finish. Based upon the structure of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) you will learn the key skills required to carry out a variety of business services across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Through the Certificate IV, you will develop your skills in applying critical thinking to work practices, use digital technologies to better collaborate with others, build and maintain business relationships, and identify suppliers and plan procurement activities.

Upon successful completion of the 12 units, participants will be awarded the Certificate IV in Business (Procurement) (BSB40120). The Certificate IV in Business is regarded as the industry standard in the recognition of those who have demonstrated the ability to work effectively within a business environment.

Entry Requirements

Students are required to have access to a workplace and/or team environment, ideally to apply business and procurement principles; this may include a previous workplace. You need access to a computer and an internet connection. The program is best suited to those with some workplace experience to apply their learning to.

Student Support

Regardless of the chosen study method, all of our students at Scope Training are assigned to a staff member for ongoing support via phone, email or virtual meetings as required through to completion of their qualification. We encourage students to maintain regular contact with their training consultant to get the most out of their studies.

RPL for the Certifcate IV in Business (Procurement)

To attain the Certificate IV in Business (Procurement) RPL is a 3-step process:

  • Step 1 – Suitability assessment: Scope reviews your resume/experience summary to determine if RPL is appropriate.
  • Step 2 – Evidence gathering: You work with Scope to show your experience and knowledge meet the requirements of the Certificate IV. Evidence types include evidence of negotiation/communication with stakeholders, Scope of Works, Requests for Quote, meeting minutes from project start-up meetings, and other procurement documentation.
  • Step 3 – Award of qualification upon successful assessment.

Note: If you have never worked as a contract administrator or supported a purchasing manager, RPL would not be an appropriate pathway. In that case, online enrolment is the recommended route.

All enrolments last for 12 months. We find the majority of our students can complete in a shorter timeframe, and often see students complete within 4-8 months of enrolment. You can work through as fast as you want, as all our courses are fully self-paced.
