Weighted Evaluation Matrix (WEM) Template

The Weighted Evaluation Matrix (often called the WEM) is a procurement tool used in the selection of suppliers.

The WEM template is easy to use:

• Start by defining the criteria you will be using to differentiate between suppliers
• Add a weighting to the relative importance of each criterion to the project (as per the legend)
• Insert your suppliers
• Evaluate the performance of each supplier against the respective criteria
• The supplier with the highest score represents the greatest alignment with the project’s objective.

The WEM can also be used in the requirement of project staff and contractors.
